Victoria Beckham’s chaotic lifestyle practically demands that she have a handle on health and wellness. The former singer and clothing designer has built an eponymous fashion label from the ground up, all while raising four kids with husband David Beckham.
Eat Healthy Fats Every Day
“I eat lots of good fats, in avocados, nuts, seeds, salmon,” she told the online magazine. “You have to eat salmon every single day,” her dermatologist told her. “I said, ‘Really, every day?’ And he said, ‘Yes, breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to eat it every single day.'” A diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids can reduce the risk of heart disease, depression, dementia, and arthritis, as well as repair skin tissue for a plumper, more youthful appearance.
Never Skip Your Skincare Routine
These two bits of advice could be considered the backbone of any healthy skincare routine. “I don’t think you realize how important [a healthy lifestyle is] until you get older,” she explains. “You realize how vital it is to wear sunscreen; to drink lots of water; to cleanse, tone, moisturize.”
Be Your Own Biggest Advocate
While Beckham thanks her husband and family for the unconditional support, she believes that, at the end of the day, “you have to [empower] yourself, rather than rely on other people to do that,” she explains. “It’s great to get a compliment from your husband, or your kids, or another woman, but you also have to make yourself feel good.”
Always Make Time for a Morning Workout
While the snooze button can be tempting, Beckham joins the never-ending list of successful people who always opt for a morning workout. “I usually get up about 6 a.m., do a bit of a workout, get the kids up, get them changed, give them breakfast, get them to school, then do a bit more working out before I go to the office,” she dishes. “And to do all of that, I’ve got to fuel my body correctly.”
